I joined RM Fitness in January 2013 because I realised I needed a lifestyle change. I was overweight and very unfit. I signed upfor the 12 week challenge after seeing some of my friends do well on the previous one.
My initial worries were that I would be to unfit and make an idiot of myself but I soon realised there was a lot of people in the same boat. After the initial shock, I soon got into it and can honestly say I enjoyed every minute.
After 12 weeks hard work I had lost 3 1/2 stone and 20% body fat!
After the challenge I was hooked and started P.T. with Russ, which was both enjoyable and educational. I lost another stone and more body fat.
I would urge anybody who is thinking of joining RM Fitness to just do it! Since I have joined I have never looked back and it’s changed my life for the better!
I was so nervous to start with. Thinking everyone would be better than me fitter than me, thinner than me, this was a major worry. When I woke up that particular morning I new my life was going to change. I new this time was different, I knew RM Fitness was a place that people had achieved massive results.
I was sick of the yo-yo dieting, the things I struggled with was EVERYTHING! Diet, training, focusing my brain, motivating myself - they are all key factors of a massive body transformation, but believe me when you get these key factors right, it changes your whole life. That’s a 100% promise from myself.
The worst thing about dieting is you can never tell on your self this is why RM Fitness was so good for me because at the end of challenge, one when you see the draw dropping pictures, it’s unreal and this was brilliant to track my progress in 8 weeks.
Let me also tell you this, there is no feeling like it. Happy, successful, new lease of life, everything! It’s amazing and that all the way through it, I kept me focus. The overall experience down at RM Fitness was unreal, the explaining of the class, support from each and every one member of staff was friendly but yet very serious about your results.
So for all you thinking can I? Will I? Do I? Should I? How can I? Then please don’t hesitate like I did for a long time get signed up. Don’t waste any more time, make the changes and make them today. With the right gym that will cater for all your needs, hopes and dreams. I know to some people it will sound far fetched but if you ever felt the way I did you would understand!
It’s because of RM Fitness that I feel fitter and healthier than ever before. My journey began through recommendation from a friend who had done well on a previous challenge and I have never looked back since. Something that really stands out for me is my lifestyle change, I really enjoy healthy eating combined with both weight and cardio based exercise. A struggle would have to be using weights for the first time which I never thought I would be able to do, this now is probably my most enjoyable part of training. If I was to give anyone any advice it would be to never give up, your hard work will pay off :)
When I started training at RM fitness I was overweight and had been for a number of years.
I was nervous about starting the challenge but was immediately put at ease by all the trainers involved. The first two weeks involved a detox which I didn’t find as hard as I thought I would and combined with the exercise I began to see results very quickly. The trainers were all very encouraging and although they pushed you to do better this was done with care and enthusiasm. They were just as keen to see me achieve my goals as I was.
Rather than dread going to the gym as I had done for so many years I began to look forward to my sessions and they became part of my life and I looked forward to the exercise.
Overall my time with RM has been an amazing experience and has become a part of my life that I would miss now were I to give it up.
I have met some amazing and inspirational people and cannot thank the staff enough for the help they have given me.
I now need to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes and the experience of throwing out all the clothes that are much too big for me is a highlight of my last six months.
I would not hesitate to recommend RM Fitness to anyone. A number of people I know have joined after seeing my results.
Thanks to all at RM.
A year ago, I made the decision to join the 8 week challenge at RM Fitness. After looking at the results achieved by previous challenge winners I decided it was time to make a change... little did I know, at the time, just how much of an impact this would have on my attitude, my mindset and my body.
Initially, I struggled greatly on the 8 week challenge: I was tired; I ached after training sessions; I craved sweets (especially chocolate ... and cake!) and I fought against others who tried to tempt me to ‘break’. It was hard to forget about those things but I knew I had to continue, in order to set out what I aimed to achieve. So, I kept a log of my food for each day as well as training sessions across the week to help me remain focused.
On the challenge weigh and measure sessions, I often felt disappointed, I had high expectations of myself and if I didn’t fulfil those I felt disheartened. Nevertheless I persevered, with the support from my brother (my training buddy), my newly made fitness friends and the RM team. The 8 week challenge was a kick start to a lifestyle change. I now eat healthily and train regularly, trying to be as consistent as possible.
Progress for me, has always been steady and gradual. I found it hard not to compare my results with others. It is easy to lose sight of what you’ve a achieved long term, especially when you see the results that others make over a short period of time. At the end of the January 12 week challenge, I was ‘gutted’ with my results, as I didn’t feel that there was a significant change. Pete and Russ, both invested time in me to discuss my results to date. Russ helped me to see the bigger picture, which I was ‘blind’ to. The RM team have motivated me, encouraged me and believed in me every step of my fitness journey!
I have enjoyed being part of a fitness community, where people are genuine, helpful and caring. The atmosphere in the gym is electric; the people and the trainers make RMFitness what it is. Everyone shares a common goal; to make changes and improvements to help better yourself, and there are plenty of people along the way to provide information and advice.
I have thoroughly enjoyed developing my fitness levels; I feel a lot more energetic and as a result feel that I can trainer harder and stronger in sessions.
For the first time last September I ran the Wigan 10K in an hour and 15 minutes, this was a real achievement for me personally as I have been a keen runner. This year, I have signed up again with the aim to finish in under an hour!
My advice for anyone thinking of signing up... Be open minded, be prepared to change and get ready to engage your ‘inner beast!’
When I first signed up at RM Fitness I was very unhappy with myself. I hated my appearance, was at an unhealthy weight, and felt constantly lethargic. I knew I had to finally do something to address these issues.
I’d trained at several gyms sporadically over the years to little effect, so was looking for something different to try in order to raise my fitness levels & hopefully look and feel better.
On the 7th January 2012 (and despite being VERY nervous) I took part in my first ever Bootcamp. I can’t actually describe how tough I found it, and only barely made it to the end without throwing up. I clearly remember though that it was the support of the trainers and the other members, and the brilliant atmosphere, that kept me going.
The support and sense of community that exists at RM Fitness is the reason that, two and a half years later, I still love coming here. With just over 12 months to go before I turn 40, I now feel, and look (so I’m told!) so much better, and think my fitness levels could rival someone half my age!
It hasn’t been easy, and the whole process has been ultimately about changing my attitude towards fitness & nutrition to make it a lifestyle and not just a fad. This really isn’t as drastic as it sounds, just something I learned from participating in the 12 week challenge that started in Jan 2013.
I entered the challenge as I had stopped losing weight, and was becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of visual results. I was fitter than I had ever been, but wanted to look leaner. During the 12 weeks we were given lots of nutritional advice, & the combination of eating healthier with regular exercise was a massive eye opener. After 3 weeks I could see my abs for the first time, which spurred me on further.
Ultimately, the 12 week challenge changed everything for me. I look back and see it as the jump leads to my broken down car. Over a year later I still observe the diet plan at around 70-80% and it’s really no effort at all. It may say 8 week / 12 week challenge, but it’s about extending beyond those time periods and putting into practice what you’ve learned. I’m living proof it can be done.
More recently I’ve started Strength Lab. After all this hard work I wanted to become stronger and attempt to change my shape, so this is now the next step in my path to looking and feeling better. It was quite daunting at first, but the advice and support from the RM Team is second to none.
If I could offer any advice to anyone thinking of signing up to RM Fitness, it’s simply this; Don’t let nerves, fear of failure, or the thought that people may be judging you, stop you from signing up - It’s not that kind of place. Russ and his team are dedicated to getting you in the best shape of your life, and everybody is supportive no matter what your ability. And I know it’s a cliche, but if I can do it then anyone can! Good Luck!
My partner Brian went into RM fitness to enquire about joining and after speaking to Russ about joining the gym he persuaded me that we both do the eight week challenge, apprehensively I agreed.
We attended are first session on the 26th April 2014 weighing approximately 12st 10lb and was really nervous as I didn't know what to expect as we were in a group with people who had done other challenges as well as people in a similar position to Brian and myself. I was put on the strict detox diet for two weeks which was really tough to adapt to at first and at times I questioned was this for me, but I stuck to it and could see dramatic weight loss after two weeks.
I attended the gym for the two classes as well as doing a box fit at weekends. With support and the attitudes of the team and other members the 8 weeks pasted really quick. At the end of these eight weeks I felt a lot better about myself and had lost 1st
3lb and lost 2 and ¾ inches around my waist with a 7.2 percent body fat lose.
After the challenge I was introduced to the start of evolution 365 were I was more accountable for my own progression and attended classes regularly and also ate healthily as the RM fitness team guided me with advice on eating and following the Modus vivendi rule of thumb. This has enabled me to still train but also enjoy holidays and functions associated with working, family life and 6 kids.
Since joining RM Fitness E365 I have started having a P.T with Claire and she pushed me and helped me achieve my goals, I have completed my first 10k Wigan run and Southport 10k with a PB of 50:33, which I would never envisage my self doing prior, this has given me the confidence to sign up to the Liverpool half marathon in March 2015.
With alI the tremendous support from staff and the great team work ethos from the members, I now weigh 10st 1lb and have never felt better and I can honestly say the best thing I have ever done is join RM fitness.
A big thank you to everyone who I have trained with, my partner Brian and the RM fitness team.
To Russ and the whole RM Fitness Team,
My RMF Journey…
As you know, I started at RM Fitness on a 12 week challenge back in September 2013. I was 20 stone 5 pounds.
I started as I thought I needed to lose weight now or I knew I would more than likely carry on gaining weight as I am always conscious of my late father’s weight which went up to 28 ½ stone and he had numerous health problems.
The previous January on holiday I had been refused to do a tandem parachute jump because I was too heavy and this cheesed me off. Skip forward 12 weeks with RM advice and encouragement and I lost just over 3 ½ stone.
I am please to say that I have got my mojo back since and have carried on training and enjoy it. Its good making lots of new friends along the way and enjoy lots of banter.
I now weigh 15 stone 13 pounds and am aiming to what I never thought possible my goal weight of 14 stone which I originally said on day one with the RM teams help.
I will get to this for Christmas 2015 no doubt.
Big thanks to the RM team.
