When I started training with Russ I didn't know what to expect as my usual routine was eating takeaways on a regular bases. Changing to dieting was hard for me to get into a routine to eat healthier but with the support of Russ I got there in the end.
Training was hard but when it got tough and when I felt like I was going to give up Russ always motivated me to keep going even when I am “physically passing out†which boosted my confidence and made me even more determined to achieve my goals.
HOW DID YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF PRIOR TO STARTING THE PT SESSIONS?
I.E. CONFIDENCE / SELF ESTEEM / BODY IMAGE ETC
At first I did not have much confidence however after a few sessions I started to gain confidence. All I knew was I had a lot of work to do to achieve my goals.WHY DID YOU CHOOSE RUSS MEADOWS OVER THE OTHER PERSONAL TRAINERS AVAILABLE?
The results he has achieved with other clients have been very successful and as he is determined to achieve high standards out of his clients.
WHAT TRAINING TECHNIQUES DID RUSS USE WITH YOU?
Russ did cardio, core work, resistance work, and also the pain full boot camp which I loved.....
WHAT GOALS WERE YOU LOOKING TO ACHIEVE THROUGH YOUR PT?
My primary goal was to lose weight. My long term ambition is to join the RAF as a gunner. For this I need to be able to run 3 miles, do lots of press ups, sit-ups and also maintain stamina to keep pushing myself.
AND TO WHAT LEVEL DID YOU ACHIEVE THEM?
Well I have lost 4 stone and still losing weight. From being able to run for 2 mins and now to be able to run 3 miles in under 21 mins is a huge achievement for me which boosted my confidence. However, I am still training so my results are still improving.

Without Russ being so supportive and pushing me to my limit I wouldn't have got this far.
PLEASE LIST THE RESULTS YOU ACHIEVED:
- WEIGHT LOSS/BODY FAT:
I was 15 stone 7lbs and am now 11 stone 7lbs and dropping still. I started at 33 % Body Fat and am now 15.8%. My waist has dropped at staggering ten inches (costing me a fortune in new jeans!!) - HOW YOU FEEL NOW COMPARED TO BEFORE:
I feel amazing as the work I have done has paid off as I worked so hard to get these results and I’m quite proud of myself. - FITNESS INPROVEMENTS:
When I started from as I was unable to even run for 2 mins, and couldn’t do one press up or sit up. I can now run at a 7 min/mile pace for 30 mins plus, and can do 50 press ups and sit ups in a minute. I can also do a full pull up now! However I am still training so there will always be more improvements in my fitness. - SELF ESTEEM:
My self esteem is now much better and will continue to improve more. - CONFIDENCE:
My confidence was low at the start as I knew I had a lot of work ahead. However, as time passed and as I have accomplished my goals they have boosted my confidence a lot. Also the support I have had of Russ pushing me has helped me a lot. - SLEEPING/EATING PATTERNS:
Well what can I say, I used to stay up late until ridiculously late hours but after one session of coming in to training with Russ while having lack of sleep affected me in a bad way. From then on I started sleeping right and at the right times, therefore I have started to feel more fresh and performed better.
Changing my eating pattern I must say was a challenge and took me quite a while to get into the routine of eating healthy as I can’t resist a takeaway! But after a while I slowly cut down the junk food and started eating right. When I started eating healthier I started to see results even though I found that eating salads was not the best taste but I achieved results which I wanted and stuck to it.
ANY OTHER COMMENTS?
With the results I have been achieving have built my confidence in getting into the Royal Air Force as it is a demanding position as a gunner.
