I have been training for a long time now. The first ever training I did was kickboxing as a youngster. I studied kickboxing for a long time and entered many competitions. I have always been interested in martial arts and eventually found MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). MMA lets me use my kickboxing techniques as well as learning other forms of martial arts such as wrestling and jujitsu. I have been learning MMA for about 4 months now and I am seeing improvements in technique, however I was finding that my performance such as speed and power was improving at a slower rate. I have learnt many training techniques through instructors but found that I was only making a slow progression. So I decided to seek professional advice from a personal trainer.

I choose Russ as a personal trainer because of his background to teaching MMA and cage fighters in the past. I trusted that Russ would be able to deliver all my performance needs.

When I first spoke to Russ we sat down and he carefully studied the history of my training. He asked me what my training background was, what I am recently doing and what sort of goals I would like to achieve. He then set me on a specific progressive program to increase my strength and power. He wrote out a 4 week program with each specific exercise for each day, neatly presented on a spreadsheet.

So far the program is benefiting as I have increased in muscle strength as well as core strength. Also the program has given me stability and structure, which helps in keeping focused.

I would recommend Russ as a personal trainer who wants to seek and achieve big goals. Russ is very knowledgeable and very friendly. He has a sporting background is used to training people with sporting desires day in day out. Russ is always available when I need help or advice with the program, which helps to stay on track.
