Kettlebells are grabbing lots of media attention and rightly so!
Lots of celebrities and athletes using them, and getting great results. They may look like a cannonball with a handle, but kettlebells are a traditional Russian exercise tool which is great at improving strength, endurance. Depending on how the kettle bell is used it can help burn lots of unwanted body fat or can aid in the building of lean muscle tissue.
Based on the design of the kettlebell, the weight is offset with reference to the handle – unlike conventional weights – so using them is a bit tougher than you would initially expect. For example, a 12kg kettlebell will provide a much more demanding workout than a 12kg dumbbell.
Where dumbbells and barbells focus on isolation moves, the kettlebell is used for ballistic drills that are not only more beneficial to your training aims (strength, fitness, lean muscle, weight loss, increased cardio etc) they also focus on drills that are used in the real world: we pick things from the floor, lift shopping out of the boot of our car, put luggage in the holder on aeroplanes and so forth.
